Possible Causes
Clogged accessory hose, Blocked tool head, Diverter valve not switching to hose, Damaged hose cuff seal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before attaching or detaching the hose.
- 1. Check diverter / hose port: Ensure the hose port door is fully open and any diverter knob is set to "Tools" or hose mode.
- 2. Inspect hose for clogs: Detach the accessory hose and look through it. Use a flexible brush or straightened coat hanger to gently push out blockages.
- 3. Clean tool head: Remove hair and debris from the upholstery tool or stair tool. Rinse under warm water and let dry.
- 4. Check hose seals: Inspect the rubber hose cuff seals at both ends for cracks or deformation. Replace the hose if seals are damaged.
- 5. Test suction at port: With the hose removed and the unit on, feel for suction at the hose port. If strong at the port but weak at the tool, the hose assembly is the issue and should be replaced.
