Carpet cleaner leaves carpets excessively wet after cleaning

Safety first: Unplug the Bosch carpet cleaner before inspecting the nozzle or seals.

• 1. Check suction nozzle
  • Inspect the front suction slot on the cleaning head for lint, hair, or debris.
  • Clean thoroughly with a brush and warm water; ensure the slot is not warped.
• 2. Inspect dirty water tank seals
  • Remove the dirty water tank and examine the perimeter gasket and valve seals.
  • Replace flattened or cracked seals to restore airtightness.
• 3. Check for air leaks
  • Reinstall the tank and run the unit; listen for hissing sounds around the tank area.
  • Gently press on the tank; if suction improves, the seal is suspect.
• 4. Evaluate suction motor
  • If seals and nozzle are clean but carpets remain very wet, the suction motor may be weak.
  • A technician can measure airflow and replace the motor assembly if below specification.
