Possible Causes
Empty clean water tank, Blocked spray nozzle, Airlock in solution line, Failed solution pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Bosch carpet cleaner before removing hoses or opening the pump compartment.
- 1. Check water tank
- Remove the clean water/solution tank and verify it is filled to the correct level.
- Ensure the tank cap and valve seal are correctly fitted and not damaged.
- Reinstall the tank firmly until it clicks into place.
- 2. Prime the pump
- With the tank full, plug in the unit and switch it on.
- Hold the trigger for 30–60 seconds to allow the pump to draw water and clear air from the line.
- If water begins to spray, the issue was an airlock.
- 3. Clean spray nozzles
- Unplug the unit again.
- Remove the spray bar or nozzle assembly from the cleaning head.
- Soak in warm water and gently clear mineral deposits with a soft brush or toothpick (do not enlarge the nozzle holes).
- 4. Inspect solution hoses
- Check the transparent solution hose from the tank to the pump and from the pump to the nozzle.
- Look for kinks, pinched sections, or leaks; replace damaged hoses.
- 5. Test solution pump
- Access the Bosch solution pump (usually a small diaphragm or rotary pump near the tank connection).
- With the pump disconnected, measure coil resistance; an open circuit indicates a failed pump.
- If the pump receives voltage but does not run or is very noisy, replace the pump assembly.
