Possible Causes
Stuck float in dirty water tank, Contaminated level sensor, Faulty reed switch or optical sensor, Damaged sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing tanks or accessing sensors.
- 1. Empty and clean dirty water tank
- Remove the dirty water tank and empty all contents.
- Rinse thoroughly with warm water to remove foam, hair, and debris.
- Locate the float mechanism inside the tank and ensure it moves freely.
- 2. Check float and magnet
- Inspect the float for swelling, warping, or soap residue that may cause sticking.
- Clean the float and float chamber; ensure the magnet (if used) is intact.
- 3. Inspect level sensor
- On the main body, locate the level sensor area where the tank sits (reed switch or optical sensor).
- Clean the sensor window and surrounding area with a soft cloth.
- Check for broken or loose wires at the sensor connector.
- 4. Test reed switch (if applicable)
- Use a multimeter in continuity mode across the reed switch terminals.
- Move the float (with magnet) near the switch; continuity should change as the magnet approaches/leaves.
- If there is no change, replace the level sensor assembly.
- 5. Refit and test
- Reinstall the clean float and tank, ensuring it seats correctly.
- Power on and verify that the full indicator is off when the tank is empty.
