Possible Causes

Brush roll jammed with debris, Worn or broken brush drive belt, Seized brush bearings, Overloaded carpet height setting

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit immediately if you smell burning or see smoke.

  • 1. Clear brush roll
    • Remove the brush access cover on the underside of the cleaning head.
    • Cut away hair, threads, and fibers wrapped around the brush and end caps.
    • Ensure the brush spins freely by hand.
  • 2. Inspect drive belt
    • Locate the Bosch brush drive belt between the motor pulley and brush roll.
    • Check for cracks, glazing, or stretching; if the belt is loose or broken, replace it with the correct Bosch belt.
  • 3. Check brush bearings
    • Remove the brush roll and inspect the end bearings or bushings.
    • If they are seized, noisy, or melted, replace the brush roll assembly.
  • 4. Adjust carpet height
    • If your model has a height adjustment, set it higher for thick or shag carpets.
    • Running on too low a setting can overload the brush motor and trigger E07.
  • 5. Reset and test
    • Some models have a brush overload reset button on the nozzle; press it after clearing the jam.
    • Plug in and test; if E07 returns quickly, the motor or control PCB may be damaged and require professional service.
