Possible Causes
Brush roll jammed with debris, Worn or broken brush drive belt, Seized brush bearings, Overloaded carpet height setting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit immediately if you smell burning or see smoke.
- 1. Clear brush roll
- Remove the brush access cover on the underside of the cleaning head.
- Cut away hair, threads, and fibers wrapped around the brush and end caps.
- Ensure the brush spins freely by hand.
- 2. Inspect drive belt
- Locate the Bosch brush drive belt between the motor pulley and brush roll.
- Check for cracks, glazing, or stretching; if the belt is loose or broken, replace it with the correct Bosch belt.
- 3. Check brush bearings
- Remove the brush roll and inspect the end bearings or bushings.
- If they are seized, noisy, or melted, replace the brush roll assembly.
- 4. Adjust carpet height
- If your model has a height adjustment, set it higher for thick or shag carpets.
- Running on too low a setting can overload the brush motor and trigger E07.
- 5. Reset and test
- Some models have a brush overload reset button on the nozzle; press it after clearing the jam.
- Plug in and test; if E07 returns quickly, the motor or control PCB may be damaged and require professional service.
