Possible Causes
Shorted solution pump motor, Pinched or shorted pump wiring, Faulty pump driver on PCB, Water ingress into pump connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and ensure the area around the pump is dry before inspection.
- 1. Inspect pump wiring
- Access the pump compartment and locate the Bosch pump connector and wiring harness.
- Look for crushed, pinched, or melted insulation.
- Repair or replace damaged wiring and ensure connectors are fully seated.
- 2. Check for water ingress
- Inspect the pump connector and nearby PCB for signs of moisture or corrosion.
- Dry thoroughly and clean corrosion with contact cleaner if minor.
- 3. Test pump coil
- Disconnect the pump and measure resistance across its terminals.
- A very low resistance (near 0 Ω) or visible burn marks indicate a shorted pump; replace the pump.
- 4. Inspect control PCB
- If a new or known-good pump still triggers E09, the pump driver circuit or relay on the PCB may be damaged.
- Due to mains voltage and complexity, PCB repair or replacement should be done by a qualified technician.
