Possible Causes
Failed detergent pump, Blocked detergent line, Stuck detergent solenoid valve, Empty or improperly seated detergent cartridge
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the carpet cleaner and remove the detergent cartridge or tank.
- Check detergent level and seating: Ensure the Electrolux detergent cartridge or tank is not empty and is fully locked into place.
- Flush detergent line: Fill the detergent tank with warm water and run a cleaning cycle (if possible) to dissolve dried detergent. If E15 prevents operation, manually disconnect the detergent hose and flush it with warm water.
- Inspect solenoid valve: Locate the detergent valve or pump. Check for clicking when detergent mode is selected (with unit plugged in and safe). No sound may indicate a failed coil.
- Check for clogs: Remove and clean any small filters or screens in the detergent path.
- Replace pump/valve: If voltage is present at the pump/valve but it does not operate, replace the detergent dosing pump or solenoid valve.
