Possible Causes
Moisture inside motor or wiring, Damaged power cord insulation, Internal short to chassis, Faulty ground fault detection circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit. If you suspect a ground fault, do not continue to operate the cleaner until the fault is resolved.
- Dry the unit: If the cleaner was used in an excessively wet environment or stored damp, allow it to dry in a warm, dry area for 24–48 hours.
- Inspect cord and plug: Look for cuts, nicks, or crushed areas on the power cord. Replace the cord if any damage is found.
- Check for internal leaks: Open the housing and inspect for signs of water leakage around the pump, hoses, and tanks. Repair leaks and dry all components thoroughly.
- Insulation test (for professionals): Use a megohmmeter to test insulation resistance between live parts and chassis. Low resistance indicates a leakage path that must be corrected.
- Ground fault circuit: If no physical fault is found, the internal ground fault detection circuit on the PCB may be overly sensitive or defective and require replacement.
