Possible Causes
Overheated suction motor, Seized motor bearings, Faulty motor thermal protector, Open motor winding or wiring harness fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the carpet cleaner before opening any panels.
- Allow motor to cool: If the unit stopped during use and shows E2, leave it unplugged for at least 30–45 minutes to allow the motor thermal protector to reset. Try again briefly.
- Check for blockages: A blocked air path can overheat the motor. Remove the dirty water tank, hose, and nozzle. Clear any lint, hair, or debris from the suction path, nozzle, and hose.
- Inspect motor movement: With the housing removed (per service instructions), try to rotate the motor fan by hand (from the fan end). It should spin freely. If it is stiff or seized, the motor assembly must be replaced.
- Check wiring to motor: Inspect the motor harness connector for discoloration, melting, or loose pins. Reseat the connector firmly. If wires are burned or brittle, replace the harness.
- Test motor windings: Using a multimeter, measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit or very high resistance indicates a failed motor.
