Possible Causes
Failed brush drive motor, Broken brush belt, Jammed brush roll due to debris, Faulty brush motor control on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before working near the brush area.
- Check for jams: Turn the unit over and remove the brush access cover. Remove hair, threads, and debris wrapped around the brush roll and end caps. Ensure the brush spins freely by hand.
- Inspect the belt: If your Electrolux model uses a belt, check if the belt is broken, stretched, or off the pulley. Replace with the correct Electrolux brush belt if damaged.
- Test brush motor: Locate the brush motor (often near the front nozzle). Check the wiring connector for secure fit. If accessible, apply a low test voltage per service manual or test continuity of the motor windings with a multimeter.
- Reset brush overload: Some models have a brush overload reset button near the nozzle. Press it firmly and try again.
- Control board check: If the motor and belt are good but E3 persists, the brush motor driver circuit on the main PCB may be faulty and require board replacement.
