Safety first: Unplug the unit.

• Check hose and tool: Detach and visually inspect for clogs. Push a flexible brush through to clear blockages.
• Inspect diverter: Operate the floor/tool suction selector and ensure it moves fully. Clean any debris around the diverter gate.
• Check for leaks: Block the hose end with your hand and feel for suction; if weak and hissing, the hose may be cracked and should be replaced.
