Possible Causes

Dirty recovery tank not cleaned after use, Damp filters harboring bacteria, Residual dirty water in hoses and nozzle, Use of unapproved detergents

Safety: Unplug the unit and work in a ventilated area.

Deep clean tanks: Wash the clean and dirty water tanks with warm soapy water and allow them to dry completely.
Sanitize hoses and nozzle: Run a solution of warm water and a small amount of white vinegar through the solution system, then flush with clean water.
Dry filters: Wash and thoroughly dry all filters before reinstalling.
