Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the machine before inspecting internal components. Avoid spilling water on electrical parts.
- Check solution tank: Remove the Ewbank solution tank, fill it with clean water and detergent to the correct level, and ensure the cap and valve are properly tightened. Reseat the tank firmly until it clicks.
- Prime the pump: Plug the unit back in, turn it on, and hold the spray trigger for 30–60 seconds while the machine is tilted slightly backward. This can purge air from the pump.
- Clean spray nozzles: Unplug again. Remove the front nozzle assembly. Soak the spray jets in warm water and gently clear any mineral deposits with a soft brush or toothpick. Do not enlarge the nozzle holes.
- Inspect solution hose: Follow the clear solution hose from the tank to the pump and from the pump to the nozzle. Look for kinks, pinches, or leaks. Straighten or replace damaged hose.
- Check pump wiring: If accessible, locate the small solution pump (usually near the base). Ensure the electrical connector is fully seated. Look for corrosion or broken wires.
If the pump remains silent and E3 persists, the solution pump motor is likely defective and should be replaced with a compatible Ewbank pump assembly.
