Possible Causes
Dirty or stuck clean water tank level float, Misaligned tank not engaging sensor, Faulty magnetic reed switch or micro-switch, Broken tank tab that actuates the sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cleaner before inspecting sensors.
- Reseat tanks: Remove both the clean solution tank and the dirty water recovery tank. Wipe the contact areas dry and reinstall them firmly until they click into place.
- Clean level float: On some Ewbank models, a float inside the clean tank or recovery tank is detected by a sensor. Rinse the tank thoroughly with warm water to free any stuck float.
- Inspect tank tabs: Check for broken plastic tabs or magnets on the tank that align with the body sensor. If broken, the tank may need replacement.
- Check sensor area: Locate the tank sensor (reed switch or micro-switch) on the body. Ensure it is not obstructed by dirt or detergent residue. Wipe gently with a damp cloth.
If E7 persists with correctly seated tanks, the level sensor or associated wiring may be faulty and should be replaced.
