Ewbank Excessive Detergent Foaming

Foam or suds coming out of the recovery tank or exhaust vents.

Possible Causes

Using non-carpet detergent or too much Ewbank solution, Residual detergent in carpet from previous cleanings, Blocked float allowing foam into motor intake

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit if foam reaches the motor intake area.

Empty recovery tank: Rinse the tank thoroughly to remove foam and detergent residue.
Use defoamer: Add a small amount of approved defoamer to the recovery tank if recommended by Ewbank.
Correct detergent: Use only Ewbank-approved carpet cleaning solution at the recommended dilution.
