Possible Causes
Clogged suction hose, Blocked nozzle or intake channel, Full or incorrectly seated recovery tank, Clogged motor intake filter
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the Ewbank cleaner before clearing blockages.
- Empty and reseat recovery tank: Remove the dirty water tank, empty it, rinse, and reinstall it firmly. Ensure the lid is sealed and the tank is fully pushed into place.
- Check hose and tools: Detach the hose and any tools. Look through the hose for obstructions and push out clogs with a flexible brush or straightened coat hanger (rounded end).
- Inspect floor nozzle: Turn the unit over and remove any debris from the suction opening and brush area.
- Clean intake filter: Locate the motor intake filter near the recovery tank. Wash it with warm water and allow it to dry completely before refitting.
After reassembly, test suction again. If suction is still weak, the suction motor or internal seals may be compromised and require service.
