Overheat warning, machine cuts out after a few minutes of use and will not restart until cooled

Safety: Unplug the machine and allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes before inspection.

• Check for blockages: Remove the hose, floor tool, and wand. Inspect for clogs (hair, fluff, debris). Clear any obstructions.
• Clean filters: Remove the primary filter, motor protection filter, and any exhaust filter. Tap out dust and wash if they are washable types. Allow to dry completely before refitting.
• Inspect cooling vents: Ensure the motor housing vents are not blocked by dust or placed against soft furnishings during use.
• Check for heavy load: If the machine is used on very wet carpets for long periods, reduce duty cycle and allow cooling breaks.
• If trips persist: The motor may be overheating due to internal wear. Replace the suction motor assembly or consult a technician.
