Possible Causes
Faulty thermal cut-out on motor, Misreading temperature sensor, Blocked cooling vents, Control PCB miscalibration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool fully before inspection.
- Clean cooling vents: Inspect all air intake and exhaust grilles. Remove dust and lint with a soft brush or vacuum.
- Check filters: Ensure any motor pre-filters are clean and not restricting airflow.
- Inspect thermal cut-out: Access the motor and locate the thermal protector. Check for loose mounting or wiring. Test continuity when the motor is cool; replace if open.
- Verify sensor placement: If a separate temperature sensor is used, ensure it is correctly positioned on the motor or heater and not hanging loose.
If E14 recurs despite good airflow and sensors, the control PCB may be falsely detecting overheat and should be evaluated by a technician.
