Safety first: Unplug the unit before inspection. Do not bypass thermal protection devices.

• Empty the dirty water tank: Remove and fully empty the recovery tank. Rinse it and ensure the float valve moves freely and is not stuck in the raised position.
• Check for blockages: Inspect the floor nozzle, suction channel, hose, and wand for clogs (hair, carpet fibers, debris). Use a flexible brush or compressed air to clear obstructions.
• Clean filters: Many Gorenje carpet cleaners have a foam or mesh filter at the dirty tank outlet. Remove and wash with warm water, then dry completely before refitting.
• Allow motor to cool: If the unit was used for a long period, let it cool unplugged for at least 30–45 minutes to reset the thermal protector.
• Test operation: Reassemble, plug in, and start the unit. If E2 reappears immediately and the motor does not start, the motor or thermal fuse may be defective.
• Advanced check: With the unit unplugged and housing opened, inspect the suction motor wiring and smell for burnt odor. If the winding is burned or the thermal fuse is open (tested with a multimeter), the motor assembly should be replaced.

Persistent E2 after clearing blockages indicates a failing suction motor or control board; consider professional service.
