Possible Causes
Failed brush drive motor, Jammed brush roll, Broken drive belt (if belt-driven), Faulty brush motor control relay on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the carpet cleaner before accessing the brush area. Beware of sharp edges and hot components.
- Inspect the brush roll: Turn the unit over and remove the bottom plate or nozzle cover. Check for tangled hair, threads, or debris around the brush roll and end caps. Cut away and remove all obstructions.
- Check the drive belt (if equipped): If your Gorenje model uses a belt, inspect it for breakage, glazing, or stretching. Replace if broken or loose.
- Spin the brush by hand: The brush should rotate freely. If it is stiff or seized, remove the brush roll, clean the bearings, and replace the brush roll if the bearings are worn.
- Check brush motor wiring: Open the lower housing and locate the brush motor. Ensure the connector is firmly seated and wires are not damaged.
- Test the brush motor: With a multimeter, check continuity of the motor windings. An open circuit indicates a failed motor that must be replaced.
- Reassemble and test: After clearing jams and replacing any worn parts, reassemble the nozzle, plug in, and test. If E3 persists, the control PCB brush driver circuit may be defective and require replacement.
