Possible Causes
Open heating element, Failed temperature sensor (NTC), Loose heater wiring, Faulty heater relay on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely before accessing the heater. Risk of electric shock and burns.
- Check heater connections: Access the heater block (usually in-line with the solution hose). Verify that all spade connectors and plugs are firmly attached and free of corrosion.
- Test the heating element: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the heater terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
- Inspect the NTC sensor: Many Gorenje heaters use an NTC thermistor clipped to the heater body. Check that it is firmly attached and the wiring is intact.
- Check for limescale: If the heater is heavily scaled, it may overheat and fail. Replace the heater assembly if it is clogged or leaking.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing any faulty parts, reassemble the housing, refill the clean water tank, and test heating. If E6 persists, the control PCB heater relay or triac may be defective.
