Hoover carpet cleaner brushes spin intermittently or slow down under light load

Safety first: Unplug before servicing the brush area.

• Clean brush bearings: Remove the brushes and clean the end caps and shafts. Ensure each brush spins freely.
• Replace belt: Install a new genuine Hoover brush drive belt if the old one shows glazing, cracks, or stretching.
• Check for housing rub: Inspect the brush housing for warping that may cause the brushes to rub. Replace the housing if deformed.
• Test motor: If a new belt and clean brushes still run weakly, the brush motor assembly may be failing.
