Hoover carpet cleaner does not pick up water when using the hose tool, but floor suction is fine

Safety first: Unplug the unit before detaching the hose.

• Check hose for clogs: Remove the suction hose and look through it. Use a flexible brush or straightened coat hanger (carefully) to push out blockages.
• Inspect hose for cracks: Flex the hose and look for splits that could cause air leaks. Replace if damaged.
• Clean tool head: Disassemble the hose tool if possible and remove hair and debris from the suction opening.
• Verify diverter position: Ensure the suction diverter is set to HOSE mode when using the tool.
