Hoover carpet cleaner leaks clean water from the bottom when not in use

Safety first: Unplug the unit and remove all water from tanks before inspection.

• Inspect clean water tank: Remove the clean water tank and check for visible cracks, especially around the outlet valve and handle.
• Check tank valve: Examine the spring-loaded tank outlet valve and rubber seal. If the seal is torn or hardened, replace the valve or tank.
• Inspect base connections: Look at the tank receiver and attached hoses for cracks or loose clamps. Tighten or replace as needed.
• Test for leaks: Fill the tank and set it on a sink or towel off the machine. If it drips, the tank assembly itself is faulty and should be replaced.
