Possible Causes
Brush roll jammed with debris, Worn or seized brush motor, Failed motor thermal protector, Damaged brush drive belt (if belt-driven)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the Husqvarna carpet cleaner before accessing the brush area.
- Inspect brush roll: Turn the unit over and remove the bottom nozzle plate or brush cover. Clear hair, threads, and carpet fibers from the Husqvarna brush roll and end caps. Ensure the brush spins freely by hand.
- Check drive belt (if equipped): If your Husqvarna model uses a belt, inspect it for cracks, glazing, or stretching. Replace the brush drive belt if it slips or is broken.
- Test brush motor: With the brush assembly removed, rotate the motor shaft by hand; it should turn smoothly. If stiff or locked, the brush motor is likely failed and should be replaced.
- Reset thermal protector: Some Husqvarna brush motors have an internal thermal cut-out. Allow the unit to cool for 30–45 minutes, then retry. If E02 returns immediately, the motor or control board may be faulty.
- Electrical test: With a multimeter and the unit unplugged, check continuity of the brush motor windings via the motor connector. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
