Possible Causes

Defective solution pump, Blocked pump inlet filter, Loose or damaged pump wiring, Faulty main control PCB pump driver

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and empty the fresh water/solution tank before opening panels.

  • Check solution tank seating: Ensure the fresh water tank is correctly seated and its outlet valve opens when installed. Mis-seating can starve the pump.
  • Inspect pump inlet filter: Locate the small mesh or plastic filter at the pump inlet or tank outlet. Remove and rinse under warm water to clear detergent residue.
  • Test pump operation: With the housing open and the unit reassembled enough for safe testing, plug in and briefly activate the spray trigger. Listen for the solution pump. If silent and E3 appears, the pump or its wiring is suspect.
  • Check wiring and connectors: Inspect the two-wire harness from the control PCB to the pump. Look for corrosion at spade connectors or broken wires at strain relief points. Repair or replace the harness.
  • Measure pump coil: Unplug again, disconnect the pump, and measure coil resistance with a multimeter. An open circuit indicates a failed pump that must be replaced.
