Possible Causes
Using non-Kärcher detergent, Overdosing detergent, Residual shampoo in carpet, Missing defoamer in dirty tank
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before opening the dirty water tank.
- Empty and rinse tank: Remove the dirty water tank, empty it, and rinse to remove foam.
- Use correct detergent: Only use Kärcher-approved carpet detergent at the recommended dilution. Avoid household soaps that foam heavily.
- Add defoamer: If recommended by Kärcher, add a small amount of defoaming agent to the dirty water tank to control foam.
- Rinse carpet: If carpets have residual shampoo from previous cleaning, perform a rinse-only pass with clean water to remove excess detergent.
