Possible Causes
Faulty tilt sensor, Unit detected as not in operating position, Loose tilt sensor connector, Damaged control PCB input circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Ensure the unit is unplugged before opening any covers.
- Correct operating position: Place the Kobold carpet cleaner on a flat, level surface in its normal upright position. Some models will not start if tilted excessively.
- Power reset: Unplug the unit for 5 minutes, then reconnect and try again. This can reset the tilt sensor logic.
- Inspect tilt sensor: Access the internal tilt or position sensor (often a small module mounted on the main chassis). Check that it is firmly mounted and its connector is fully seated.
- Check for impact damage: If the unit was dropped, the sensor or PCB may be physically damaged. Look for cracked boards or broken mounts.
If E08 persists with the unit upright and wiring intact, the tilt sensor or main PCB will likely need replacement.
