Possible Causes
Partially blocked suction hose, Dirty or saturated filters, Air leak at tank seals, Worn motor brushes reducing performance
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before cleaning filters or hoses.
- Check hose and tools: Remove the hose and attachments. Look through them and clear any partial blockages with a flexible brush.
- Clean or replace filters: Remove pre-motor and exhaust filters (if fitted). Tap out dust or wash if the manual allows. Replace heavily soiled or damaged filters with genuine Miele parts.
- Inspect tank seals: Check the gaskets around the dirty water tank lid and where the tank meets the body. Replace flattened or cracked seals to prevent air leaks.
- Test suction at inlet: With the hose removed, test suction directly at the machine inlet. If still weak, the motor or internal ducts may be restricted and require professional service.
