Recovery Tank Full Sensor Fault
Dirty water tank full error even when tank is empty or partially filled
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Stuck float in dirty water tank, Blocked air path causing premature shutoff, Faulty tank full switch or reed sensor, Misaligned tank
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before handling tanks.
- Empty and clean tank: Remove the dirty water tank, empty it completely, and rinse with warm water. Clean any foam or residue from the float chamber.
- Check float operation: Move the float up and down to ensure it is not stuck. Remove hair or debris that may cause it to jam in the upper position.
- Inspect tank seating: Reinstall the tank, ensuring it is fully pushed into place and the lid is correctly latched. Misalignment can falsely trigger the full sensor.
- Clean air path: Check the suction inlet and air channels from the tank to the motor for blockages. Restricted airflow can cause the float to rise prematurely.
- If error persists: The tank full sensor (reed switch or microswitch) may be faulty and require replacement.
