Possible Causes
Faulty tank presence switch, Misaligned tank magnet, Damaged reed switch on chassis, Warped tank base not opening valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect from mains before inspection.
- Re-seat the tank: Remove and firmly reinstall the clean water tank, ensuring it clicks into place and the bottom valve opens.
- Check tank magnet (if used): Some Miele tanks use a small magnet to signal presence. Verify the magnet is still in place and not dislodged.
- Inspect chassis sensor: Locate the reed switch or microswitch under the tank area. Ensure it is not bent, damaged, or obstructed.
- Test with gentle pressure: With the unit unplugged, press the switch manually and listen/feel for a click. If no click or if it feels loose, the switch may be defective.
- Replace faulty sensor: If the tank and magnet are intact but the unit still reports low level, replace the tank presence/level sensor.
