Possible Causes
Use of non-approved detergent, Excess detergent concentration, Faulty foam sensor in recovery tank, Blocked foam baffle
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before opening tanks.
- Empty dirty tank: Remove and empty the recovery tank, rinsing out all foam and detergent residue.
- Use correct detergent: Only use Miele-approved low-foam carpet cleaning solutions at the recommended dilution. Do not use standard household cleaners or washing-up liquid.
- Clean foam baffle: Inspect and clean the foam baffle or deflector inside the dirty tank. Ensure it is correctly positioned.
- Rinse clean water tank: Rinse the clean tank to remove overly strong solution and refill with correctly diluted detergent.
- If foam sensor remains triggered: The foam sensor (often a pair of electrodes or a float) may be contaminated or faulty and may need cleaning or replacement.
