Possible Causes
Failed brush drive motor, Broken or jammed brush belt, Faulty brush motor relay on PCB, Obstruction in brush housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working near the brush head.
- Check for obstructions: Turn the unit over and inspect the brush roll area. Remove hair, threads, and debris wrapped around the brush or end caps.
- Test brush rotation by hand: Try to rotate the brush roll manually. If it is seized, remove the brush roll and clean the bearings and end caps.
- Inspect the drive belt: Remove the brush cover and check the belt between the motor and brush roll. If the belt is broken, stretched, or melted, replace it with a genuine Miele brush drive belt.
- Listen for motor noise: With the unit reassembled and plugged in, select brush mode. If you hear the motor humming but the brush does not turn, the belt is likely slipping or broken.
- If motor is silent and belt is intact: The brush motor or its control relay on the PCB may be faulty. Check wiring connections; if secure, the motor assembly may need replacement.
