Possible Causes
Blocked suction hose or nozzle, Clogged pre-motor filter, Full dirty water tank blocking airflow, Suction motor thermal cut-out tripped
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before clearing blockages.
- Check dirty water tank: Remove and empty the dirty water tank. Ensure the float is not stuck in the up position and that the tank is seated correctly when refitted.
- Inspect hose and nozzle: Detach the suction hose and floor head. Look through the hose for clogs; use a flexible brush or straightened coat hanger (carefully) to push out blockages.
- Clean filters: Locate the pre-motor filter (often a foam or fabric filter near the motor intake). Wash in lukewarm water, squeeze out excess, and allow to dry completely before refitting. Replace if damaged.
- Check exhaust filter: Some models have a HEPA or exhaust filter. Remove and tap gently to dislodge dust. Replace if heavily clogged.
- Allow motor to cool: If the motor has overheated, let the machine rest unplugged for at least 30–60 minutes to allow the thermal cut-out to reset.
Do not operate the cleaner without filters; this can damage the suction motor and void warranty.
