Possible Causes
Worn membrane keypad, Liquid ingress under buttons, Broken flex cable from keypad to PCB, Faulty keypad controller IC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before opening the control panel.
- Remove fascia: Carefully detach the control fascia to expose the membrane keypad and flex cable.
- Inspect for contamination: Look for dried detergent or moisture under the buttons. Clean gently with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
- Check flex cable: Ensure the flex ribbon is fully inserted into the PCB connector and not cracked. Reseat it if loose.
- Test keypad: Using a multimeter, check continuity across keypad contacts when pressed. If multiple keys fail, replace the entire membrane keypad assembly.
Do not use sharp tools on the membrane surface; this can puncture and permanently damage it.
