Possible Causes
Faulty tilt sensor, Stuck ball tilt switch, Loose tilt sensor wiring, Miscalibrated electronic tilt sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before accessing internal sensors.
- Operate on level surface: Ensure the carpet cleaner is used on a flat floor and not on stairs or uneven surfaces that may trigger the tilt sensor.
- Locate tilt switch: Find the mechanical ball switch or electronic tilt sensor module inside the base.
- Check for sticking: Gently tap the mechanical tilt switch; you should hear the ball move. If stuck, replace the switch.
- Inspect wiring: Verify that the tilt sensor wiring harness is secure and not damaged.
If E15 appears even when the unit is upright and the sensor tests good, the main PCB may misinterpret the signal and require replacement.
