Possible Causes
Blown mains fuse in machine, Faulty main power switch, Damaged power cord or plug, Failed main PCB (control board) low‑voltage supply
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Nilfisk carpet cleaner from the mains before opening any panels. Do not work on live circuits.
- Check wall outlet and cord: Test the outlet with another appliance. Inspect the Nilfisk power cord and plug for cuts, burns, or loose pins. Replace the cord set if damaged.
- Inspect machine fuse (if equipped): Many Nilfisk carpet extractors have an inline or panel fuse near the power entry. Remove the fuse holder and check the fuse with a multimeter (continuity). Replace only with the same rating (e.g. T10A 250V) if blown.
- Test main power switch: Access the switch panel, disconnect the switch leads, and test continuity across the switch terminals while toggling ON/OFF. Replace the Nilfisk OEM power switch if it does not close properly.
- Check control board supply: If the display briefly lights then shows E01 and shuts down, the low‑voltage supply on the main PCB may be faulty. Inspect for burnt components or swollen capacitors. If present, replace the complete Nilfisk main PCB/control module rather than attempting board‑level repair.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing any parts, reassemble covers, ensure all connectors are firmly seated, then plug in and test. If E01 persists, stop and contact an authorized Nilfisk service center.
