Possible Causes
Recovery tank overfilled, Excessive detergent causing foaming, Missing or damaged foam baffle, Blocked float shut-off mechanism
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine immediately if you suspect water or foam has entered the motor.
- Empty recovery tank: Remove and empty the dirty water tank. Rinse thoroughly to remove foam.
- Check float shut-off: Inspect the float and baffle assembly. Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck in the open position.
- Use defoamer: Add a recommended defoaming agent to the recovery tank if you are cleaning very foamy carpets.
- Reduce detergent: Follow Numatic’s dilution instructions; over-concentrated solution creates excessive foam.
- Dry motor: If water has entered the motor, allow the machine to dry for at least 24 hours and have the motor inspected by a technician.
