Possible Causes
Weak or broken rewind spring, Twisted or jammed cord on reel, Damaged cord reel ratchet, Dirt in reel mechanism
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit. Be cautious: cord reels are spring-loaded.
- Free the cord: Pull the cord out fully and gently shake to free any twists. Try the rewind again.
- Access reel (advanced): Remove the housing to access the cord reel. Carefully note the spring position.
- Clean and untwist: Clean dust from the reel and untwist the cord on the drum.
- Check spring and ratchet: If the spring is broken or the ratchet does not release, replace the entire cord reel assembly. Due to stored spring energy, this is best done by experienced persons.
