Possible Causes
Clogged motor protection filter, Blocked airflow sensor port, Faulty airflow/pressure sensor, Loose sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Philips carpet cleaner.
- Clean filters: Remove and clean all accessible filters (foam, mesh, HEPA if fitted) according to the user manual. Allow washable filters to dry completely before refitting.
- Inspect airflow sensor: Locate the airflow or pressure sensor (often a small module connected to a thin hose). Ensure the hose is not blocked or kinked.
- Clear sensor port: Gently blow through the sensor hose to clear dust. Do not blow directly into the sensor body with high pressure.
- Check wiring: Reseat the sensor connector on the main PCB.
- Component replacement: If suction is normal but E16 persists, the airflow sensor may be faulty and should be replaced.
