Possible Causes
Water detected on internal leak sensor, Spilled tank contents into base, Cracked internal hose, Faulty leak sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Philips carpet cleaner immediately. Do not operate if water is suspected inside the electrical compartment.
- Remove tanks: Take out the clean and dirty water tanks and dry any visible water around the tank seats and base.
- Dry the unit: Tip the machine slightly (do not invert fully) and use towels to absorb any water from the underside and around the base. Allow the unit to air dry for at least 24 hours in a warm, dry room.
- Inspect internal hoses: After drying, open the housing and inspect solution and recovery hoses for cracks, loose clamps, or disconnections that could cause internal leaks. Replace any damaged hoses and secure clamps.
- Check leak sensor: Locate the leak/moisture sensor (often two metal contacts or a small board near the base). Clean it with isopropyl alcohol and ensure no corrosion bridges the contacts.
- Reassemble and test: Once fully dry and reassembled, plug in and test. If E7 persists with no sign of moisture, the leak sensor or main PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
