Machine will not power on, display is blank, no indicator lights when main power switch is turned on.

Safety first: Unplug the Prochem carpet cleaner from the mains before removing any covers. Do not work on live circuits.

• Check wall outlet and cord: Verify the outlet has power by testing with another appliance. Inspect the Prochem power cord for cuts, burns, or kinks. If damaged, replace the complete power cord assembly.
• Inspect main power switch: Remove the upper cover to access the switch panel. Use a multimeter to check continuity across the main power switch terminals when switched ON. If there is no continuity, replace the main power switch.
• Check main fuse on control board: Locate the control PCB (often behind the front or side panel). Identify the glass or blade fuse on the board. Remove and test with a meter. If open, replace with the exact same rating (amperage and type). If the new fuse blows immediately, stop and have a technician check for shorts.
• Inspect terminal block connections: Tighten any loose line (L), neutral (N), and earth (E) connections at the terminal block. Look for heat discoloration or melted plastic; replace the terminal block if damaged.
• Control PCB check: If power is present at the input to the control board but the display and indicators remain dead, the Prochem control PCB is likely faulty and should be replaced as a complete module.
