Possible Causes
Stuck waste tank float, Failed waste tank float switch, Contaminated level sensor probes, Shorted level sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and wear gloves when handling waste tank components.
- Inspect float movement: Remove the waste tank lid and locate the float assembly. Ensure the float moves freely up and down. Clean any lint, hair, or debris that may be jamming it.
- Clean level sensor: If your Prochem model uses metal probes instead of a float, clean them with a non-abrasive pad to remove buildup that can cause false readings.
- Test float switch: Disconnect the float switch connector and test continuity while moving the float between empty and full positions. Replace the waste tank float switch if it does not change state.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the float or probes to the control PCB for pinched or shorted wires. Repair any damage and secure the harness away from sharp edges.
- Reset fault: After repairs, power the machine back on and empty the waste tank completely. Some models require a power cycle to clear E09.
