Possible Causes
Brush jammed with debris, Worn or seized brush bearings, Failed brush motor, Faulty brush motor relay on control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the machine before working near the brush head. Beware of sharp debris.
- Inspect brush area: Tip the machine back and remove the brush access cover. Clear any strings, hair, or debris wrapped around the brush or end caps.
- Check brush rotation: Rotate the brush by hand. It should turn smoothly. If stiff or seized, inspect the end bearings and replace the brush assembly or bearings as required.
- Test brush motor: Access the brush motor and check for burnt smell or discoloration. Measure resistance across the motor terminals; a short or open reading indicates a failed motor. Replace the Prochem brush motor.
- Inspect wiring and relay: Check the brush motor harness and connector. If the motor is good but never receives power when brush mode is selected, the brush relay on the control PCB may be faulty. Replace the control PCB.
