Possible Causes

Loose or damaged ribbon cable, Corroded display connector, Failed display/keypad module, Faulty communication driver on main control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before opening the control panel.

  • Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel cover and locate the flat ribbon cable between the display/keypad and the main PCB. Check for kinks, cuts, or burn marks. Replace the cable if damaged.
  • Clean connectors: Disconnect the ribbon at both ends and inspect the contacts. Clean gently with contact cleaner and reconnect firmly.
  • Test with replacement panel (if available): If you have access to a known-good display/keypad module, connect it temporarily. If E14 clears, replace the Prochem display/keypad assembly.
  • Main PCB communication driver: If a good panel and cable still result in E14, the communication circuitry on the main control PCB is likely faulty. Replace the control PCB.
