Possible Causes
Shorted heater element, Shorted vacuum motor, Damaged power cord, Internal wiring short to chassis
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not repeatedly reset breakers. Unplug the machine before inspection.
- Isolate components: If possible, run the machine with heater OFF and only vacuum ON, then vice versa. Identify which function causes the trip.
- Inspect cord and plug: Look for burn marks, melted plastic, or exposed conductors. Replace the Prochem power cord assembly if damaged.
- Check for shorts: Inspect internal wiring for melted insulation or contact with sharp metal edges. Repair and secure wiring.
- Test suspect components: Use a multimeter to check resistance of the heater and motors. Very low resistance or continuity to chassis indicates a short; replace the faulty component.
