Possible Causes
Water intrusion into control compartment, Wet or shorted moisture sensor, Corroded control board traces, Leaking internal hose or fitting above electronics
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Immediately unplug the unit. Do not attempt to operate a wet appliance.
- 1. Dry the exterior: Wipe down the machine, especially around the control panel and tank area. Remove both tanks and dry the cavities.
- 2. Inspect for internal leaks: Remove the outer cover to access the solution and recovery hoses. Look for drips, loose clamps, or cracked fittings above the control board area. Tighten clamps and replace damaged hoses or fittings.
- 3. Check moisture sensor: Some models have a leak/moisture sensor pad near the base. If it is wet, dry it thoroughly with a cloth and allow the unit to air dry for 24 hours in a warm, dry location.
- 4. Inspect control board: Examine the main control PCB for signs of corrosion, white residue, or burn marks. Light corrosion can sometimes be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush. Severe damage requires board replacement.
- 5. Reassemble and test: After everything is completely dry, reassemble and test. If E7 persists, the moisture sensor or control board may need replacement.
Prevention: Avoid overfilling tanks and ensure lids and caps are properly sealed before use.
