Possible Causes
Full recovery tank, Stuck float in recovery tank, Faulty full-tank sensor switch, Blocked sensor port causing false full reading
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off and unplug the unit before removing the recovery tank.
- 1. Empty recovery tank: Remove the dirty water/recovery tank and empty it completely. Rinse with clean water to remove foam and debris.
- 2. Check float mechanism: Locate the float assembly in the recovery tank lid or base. Ensure it moves freely up and down. Clean any soap scum or debris that may cause sticking.
- 3. Inspect sensor port: Some models use a small vacuum port and float ball to sense full condition. Clean the port and ensure the ball is not stuck in the closed position.
- 4. Sensor switch test: If the FULL message remains with an empty tank, access the full-tank sensor switch in the base and test it with a multimeter. Replace if it remains closed when the float is down.
Tip: Avoid using excessive detergent, which can cause foam to trigger the full sensor prematurely.
