Possible Causes
Loose or improperly seated recovery tank lid, Cracked or missing recovery tank gasket, Clogged vacuum intake or hose, Worn or failing vacuum motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before inspecting internal parts.
- 1. Check tank seating: Ensure the recovery tank is fully seated and the lid is latched. Inspect the lid gasket for damage or debris preventing a good seal.
- 2. Inspect gaskets and seals: Examine the recovery tank gasket, intake seal, and hose seals for cracks or flattening. Replace any damaged seals.
- 3. Clear clogs: Detach the vacuum hose and wand. Check for obstructions at the intake port, hose, and tool head. Remove debris with a flexible brush or by back-flushing with water (hose only, not the motor).
- 4. Check vacuum motor sound: If the motor sounds weak, rattly, or unusually loud, the vacuum motor may be failing and should be replaced.
Tip: Always empty the recovery tank before it reaches full to maintain maximum suction.
