Rug Doctor carpet cleaner leaks dirty water from the rear or bottom during or after use.

Safety: Unplug the unit and move it to a hard floor before inspection.

• 1. Inspect recovery tank: Remove the recovery tank and check for cracks, especially at seams and corners. Replace the tank if damaged.
• 2. Check lid gasket: Examine the recovery tank lid gasket for tears or flattening. Replace if it no longer seals tightly.
• 3. Inspect recovery hose: Follow the recovery hose from the intake to the tank. Look for splits or loose clamps. Replace the hose if any damage is found.
• 4. Clean overflow path: Some models have an overflow port or float. Clean any debris that may cause water to bypass the tank and leak into the base.

Note: Never operate the machine with a cracked recovery tank; this can allow water into electrical components.
